Q&A Photorejuvenation

Q: What is Photorejuvenation?

A: Photorejuvenation is a laser procedure using the VersaPulse Aesthetic Laser System to lessen wrinkles, blemishes, rosacea, pore size and sun damage. Photorejuvenation improves the skin by working beneath the epidermis to increase collagen and tighten the skin. The VersaPulse laser is attracted to both blood supply and melanin and removes unwanted facial veins, and sun damage from the skin without damaging the surface of the skin. Four to six treatments are performed three weeks apart. Our system offers a whole lot more than just skin tightening as other lasers proclaim! Photorejuvenation is great for both men and women alike and can be performed over a lunch hour.

Q: Who is a candidate for Photorejuvenation?

A: Men and women of all ages with mild to moderate wrinkles are a candidate for Photorejuvenation. Patients with irregular skin tone, large pores, sun damage, facial veins and sun spots are pleased with the procedure to improve skin tone, tightening and quality. Photorejuvenation will tighten the skin, lessen lines and wrinkles and reduce redness and vessels on the face and neck. Some patients have noticed an improvement with acne breakouts as well. All skin tones can benefit from Photorejuvenation with the VersaPulse Aesthetic Laser System.

Q: What precautions should be taken before treatment?

A: Photorejuvenation is not recommended for persons with recent sun exposure or upcoming vacation involving sunning. The UVA-UVB rays from the sun may cause temporary side effects such as: hypopigmentation (a lightening of the skin) or hyperpigmentation (a darkening of the skin) blisters, swelling and a very low chance of scarring. Using a sunscreen will greatly reduce the risk of side effects and ensure a great result. Patients using skin care products such as Retin-A, Retinol, AHA, glycolic acid products should discontinue these products two weeks before and two weeks after treatment to assure no recovery time after Photorejuvenation.

Q: How much does Photorejuvenation cost?

A: The Photorejuvenation procedure includes all pre-op and post-op care, a post op care kit and the laser procedures for $300-$550 per treatment. Generally four to six treatments are recommended. Fees vary with areas covered. All fees will be quoted in writing at the time of consultation.

Q: How much time shall I allow for recovering from photorejuvenation?

A: Absolutely none. Photorejuvenation can be performed on your lunch hour. After the procedure you may have a slight redness or rosy glow for the first day. Make up can be put on immediately. You could return to work, give a speech or presentation or visit your mother-in-law in total confidence!

Q: What will photorejuvenation NOT do?

A: Photorejuvenation will reduce mild wrinkles and fine lines. Excess skin on the eye lids, jowls and chin would need to be surgically removed in a minimally invasive cosmetic surgery procedure. Serious acne scarring would need more extensive laser as well. A free consultation may be scheduled at 1-800-769-0849 to clarify if this procedure is for you!
