Office Policies and Procedures
Complimentary consultation appointment: A free consultation is offered to patients at Laser Centers of Wisconsin. At this consultative appointment, time is allotted for you to discuss the areas of your appearance that you would like to improve. Dr. Mixter will offer his recommendations for both surgical and non-surgical alternatives to achieve your goals. Laser Centers of Wisconsin houses 10 different laser wavelengths to improve unwanted veins, birthmarks, tattoos, hair and many other conditions. Our recommendations may include skin care, anti-aging products, laser procedures, surgical procedures, permanent cosmetics or a combination of services. Our clinic specializes in offering comprehensive cosmetic services all conveniently located within our practice. Laser Centers of Wisconsin is affiliated with the Clinic of Cosmetic Surgery and L'image Skin Spa.
Missed Appointments: We appreciate a call to reschedule your appointment 48 hours in advance if you are unable to keep the time allocated for your visit. If you have missed your appointment, feel free to call to reschedule.
Cancellations: Kindly call 24 hours in advance to reschedule an appointment. We have reserved this time especially for you.
Laser Fees: Realistic fees will be quoted at the consultation appointment. Payment for services is expected at the time of each treatment session. These fees include all pre and post-operative treatment, physician visits, anesthesia and procedures as quoted in the initial consultation. Most procedures are considered to be elective in nature. Procedures that are considered to be medically necessary by your insurance carrier may receive some coverage under your insurance benefits.
Insurance: Most cosmetic surgical procedures are considered to be elective surgery and not covered in most insurance policies. Some procedures such as: mole excision and biopsy, laser surgery for rosacea, warts and birthmarks may be covered. For those procedures, we will be happy request preauthorization with your insurance provider to optimize coverage. Patient is ultimately responsible for fees for services.
Patient Financing: Several types of financing are available to meet your individual financial needs: Unicorn, That Look.com, and our own "in house" financing program offer extended payment terms in affordable monthly payments. We are happy to help utilize Flex Plan monies as well. Our office takes VISA, Mastercard, Cashier's Check, Money Order or Cash in payment for cosmetic surgery elective services.
Fees for Laser Services
Free Consultation: Laser Centers of Wisconsin offers a free consultation to determine how we can help you improve the little imperfections in your appearance that make you less confident with laser based services. At this free consultation you will be given a treatment plan card with the total fees quoted for the laser services discussed. This quotation becomes a part of your record and is good for one year from the date of initial visit. At this consult feel free to ask our laser consultants any questions that you may have about laser procedures, cosmetic surgery, sclerotherapy, skin care, make up, and other cosmetic topics that you have been interested in finding out the answers and possibilities available. We will put you in touch with our team member specializing in that area. Our plastic surgeons will offer surgical and non-surgical alternatives to achieving the subtle changes to your appearance that you have considered making at this point in your life. Realistic goals and expectations are what we are all about. Exact costs of achieving these goals help us each know what to expect.
Fees: Fees for all services at Laser Centers of Wisconsin are inclusive of physician pre and post operative visits, laser treatments and a post op care kit. Our fees are time based using the "laser ready" time used in each treatment visit. Different procedures require usual and customary treatment times based upon our experience of treating over 1000 patients.
Payment: Payment is due at the time of each treatment visit. Those charges may be paid in cash, check, VISA or MASTERCARD. Financing is available for charges above $2000 and can be arranged at the initial consultation. A returned check fee of $20.00 will be charged for checks not honored by your bank. Financing payments must be received prior to initiating first treatment.
Insurance: We are happy to write a letter of pre authorization to your insurance company if you have questions as to whether a procedure may be covered by your insurance. Most cosmetic procedures are NOT considered to be medically necessary to insurance carriers and will be payable at the time of each treatment visit. The patient is liable for all charges. If your insurance is willing to reimburse you, those reimbursements will be sent directly to you.
Touch up fees: Touch up appointments outside the initial consultation quote will be performed at ½ the initial treatment fee.
Post op instructions will be provided with the post op kit.
Emergencies: After hour emergencies, please call our office at 414-963-0275 and follow the directions for paging the doctor.
